Two friends, Kwaku Mronsa, 30, and Godwin Acheampong, 32, caused a stir in the Adugya community in the Ahafo Ano South District in the Ashanti Region when they allegedly engaged in a sexual bout with a pig.
The two have, however, been granted a police enquiry bail of GH¢4000 by the Ahafo Ano Divisional Police Command.
The Ahafo Ano Acting District Police Commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) George Amponsah, confirmed the report and said the docket on the case had been forwarded to the Ahafo Ano Divisional Crime Office for further investigation.
According to a source, one Kofi Nkoom, was passing by a pig sty at about 8:00 pm last Saturday night when he heard an unusual noise.
The source said he paused for a while and realised that the unusual noise was that of a pig. He said as a result of the persistent high pitched grunts from the pig, he decided to follow up to find out what was happening.
Nkoom said when he drew closer to the sty, he saw Acheampong having sex with one of the pigs while Mronsa stood waiting for his turn.
Nkoom, who was shocked by what he saw, made an attempt to arrest Acheampong who was on top of the pig but Mronsa helped his colleague in resisting arrest.
The source said in the midst of the confusion, a struggle ensued and one of the culprits inflicted knife wounds and a gash on his eye.
The two managed to escape after wounding Nkoom, who later lodged a complaint at the Mankraso Police Station, where he was issued with a police medical report form to attend hospital.
Acheampong and Mronsa were afterwards arrested to assist the police in investigations, following which they were given an enquiry bail.
The owner of the pig, popularly known as Sister Martha, told The Mirror that when she was informed of the incident, she followed up immediately to the scene where she observed that the pig in question looked restless and was acting strangely.
