A federal parolee found himself back behind bars in South Dakota after burning some chicken wings.
Emergency workers in Mitchell on Monday responded to a report of a fire in an apartment.
Police say the apartment had filled with smoke when the resident fell asleep while cooking chicken wings in the oven.
The Daily Republic newspaper reports police at the scene determined that the
21-year-old male resident had been drinking alcohol, a violation of his federal parole on a burglary conviction. Officers arrested him.
